Description: This Green Kukicha is made from a combination of Bancha (or second-flush) tea leaf stems, twig and stalks. Unlike Roasted Kukicha, this tea is steamed like a traditional green tea to halt the oxidation process and maintain its rich and varied green hues. While the tea was initially combined with twigs and stems for the sake of frugality during difficult times, this composition gives it a unique flavour and aroma that has become more popular and well-loved in Japan and internationally.
Tasting Notes: The aroma of this tea is a unique combination of sweet, green summer grasses and freshly sliced fruit reminiscent of apricot and pear. This delicate flavour translates to the cup, which is gentle but full-mouthed. The notes of fruit appear more strongly in the exquisite, lengthy linger on the palate.
Brewing Instructions: 2g per cup. 90ºC water. steep 3 minutes.
