This teacup is made by Margit in her 2019 footed cup design - a unique take on the Japanese yunomi, which is a cup used for daily informal tea drinking (as opposed to more traditional cups specifically made for tea ceremony). The cup size is perfect to hold in your hands, and excellent for enjoying the warmth of a tea without burning your fingers - the white, oolong and green teas that this cup is typically made to hold are brewed at lower temperatures for optimal aroma and flavour (below 100°C).

1x 10g Pouch Heron's Wake - Black Tea By Victor Vesely
The Heron stands, stoic and silent, in the marshy fields below our tea garden. The elegant majesty of its presence commands the attention of those watching as it takes flight - we hold our breath as it ascends. It leaves behind a gentle wake that ripples through the marshes. Rich notes of toasted hazelnut and hints of ground cacao combine to form a satisfying full mouth finish. A woody, almost spiced aroma mingles with the deep smell of earthy leaves. Steeps to a beautiful red-gold.
Steeping Instructions: 2 - 2.5g per cup. Use 100°C water (full boil). Pour gently over the loose leaves. Steep for 3 minutes, or depending on your taste.
The low astringency of this tea will allow you to steep longer, and we encourage re-steeping up to 3 times to experience different aspects of the flavour profile.
The organic teas we import are artisanally farmed and crafted. They may change with each harvest season. The same tea harvested at a different time of year and processed by a different tea maker will vary slightly in flavour and finish.
