March Tea of the Month :: Persia

March Tea of the Month :: Persia

As Nowruz celebrations take place around the world this month, we welcome you to partake in the splendour of Spring and steep our Tea of the Month to align with the Persian New Year!

Celebrated for over 3,000 years, Nowruz, meaning new day in Persian, is an ancestral activity marking the first day of spring and the renewal of nature and is celebrated amongst the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, as well as many other regions. This holiday promotes values of peace and solidarity between generations, families, friends and neighbours and is celebrated on Spring Equinox and lasts for 13 days.

Festivities typically involve large gatherings of friends and family, street festivals, bonfires, fireworks, poetry and folk music. Games originating in nomadic communities as well as spring cleaning marks the start of festivities. But the common denominator is food and lots of it.

Help us welcome Spring this month and enjoy pairing community celebrations with this exquisite black tea blend, Persia.

Persia is one of Westholme’s very first blended teas. Drawing inspiration from West Asian tea culture, where tea is often served with morning and afternoon meals, and to guests and neighbours throughout the day, we created a flavourful and refreshing tea for any time of day.

A gentle, floral citrus scent builds in sweetness as it sits in the cup. This tea has a gentle muscatel on the tip of the tongue, with a pleasant astringency that curbs into soft notes of lavender and bergamot. The cup is pleasantly complex, crisp, and completely refreshing.

Using 2 grams of pure tea per cup, pour 100ºC water over the leaves and steep for 3-5 minutes.

Enjoy 10% off Persia for the entire month of March!
