Description: Elegant hand built porcelain mug.

Each Polka dot porcelain cup is designed to showcase the lovely translucent quality of the material. They are hand made from thin slabs of porcelain and finished with a semi-matte glaze that enhances the brightness in the white and translucence of this rare porcelain from New Zealand.

The cup holds 300 millilitres of your favourite beverage. They can be cleaned in the dishwasher, keeping in mind that porcelain is the most fragile of all the clays used in mug making.

About Melissa Searcy 

Welcoming a collection of elegant and delicate porcelain and ceramic mugs, hand built by Victoria, BC based artist, Melissa Searcy. 

After 30 years of living and creating on Salt Spring Island, Searcy moved her ceramic studio to Victoria and began to explore the world of fine porcelain. She makes a variety of porcelain cups, bowls, small dishes and vases designed to celebrate the beauty of translucency of the material. Many of her pieces have leaf-impressed designs from leaves gathered on her walks around the city. 

Searcy often returns to making some of her favourite work from the past, including her popular crow sculptures and her vibrantly coloured Big Fruit sculptures.

This study Bauhaus style mug is designed to provide an everyday cup that is comfortable to hold. Glazed in a soft matte sage green colour to soothe and delight the eye.

Each mug is handmade from a fine stoneware clay and holds 250 millilitres of your favourite beverage.They can be cleaned in the dishwasher, keeping in mind to treat with care.

Two in-house formulated glaze options are available - Caramel and Dark Chocolate. The silky semi-matte surface of each glaze in contrast to the exposed clay provides an engaging tactile experience. Perfect for nourishing yourself this fall.
