Retailer of the Week : Salt Spring Island Cheese
Since selling their first cheese 25 years ago, Salt Spring Island Cheese has been a food destination staple of their island namesake. Founded by David Wood, who moved his family from the fast-paced Toronto food scene to Salt Spring Island in 1990, the company continues to be family owned and operated. A seasonal Café (closed until mid-June), is also located on-site, as well as a herb and flower garden, chicken coops, wonderful dairy goats, their cheese making facility, and the farm shop.
The 100% all-natural ingredient goat cheeses, made on-site, are absolutely a must-try and the foundation of the business - and what a delicious foundation it is! They can be purchased at their Farm Shop, which also carries incredible local jams and jellies, crackers, breads, chutneys, smoked salmon, chocolate, and just about anything you’d ever want to pair your cheese with (including our tea!).
