Teashop + Gallery Reopening in June

As you may already know, as of Tuesday, May 19th, our province has begun to roll out Phase II of the Covid-19 Pandemic Response Plan. Certain businesses have been allowed to open their doors, while following safety guidelines, and many have done so already.

While Westholme isn’t there yet, our team has been working together to brainstorm solutions for a potential, limited reopening, if all goes well. These plans are still in their infancy, and still depend, as so many things do, on how the pandemic continues to develop in our province over the coming weeks and months.

However, our goal is to have the Westholme Teashop and Gallery open in a limited capacity to the public by the first week of June, while making sure you and our staff is safe while doing so. We will be sure to update you all on these plans when they are ready to roll into action.

We do not have any immediate strategies in place to reopen the Tearoom or Patio for Tea Service (at the moment). We acknowledge that being able to participate in our tea service and savour our gardens is an important part of the Westholme experience for many of our customers. We miss sharing it with you. But for now, our energies are focused on plucking and processing the first flush of our Canadian Tea harvest, and continuing to import the largest selection of fine, organic loose leaf tea on Vancouver Island for our patrons to enjoy at home.

The pandemic has changed everyone’s way of operating: how we shop, how and when we leave the house, and how we interact with our communities in the face of difficulty. We have been so lucky, and so appreciative of the way our patrons have made the change to online ordering. Since the launch of our improved online store a couple months past, we’ve been receiving plenty of orders from customers old and new… we cannot stress just how thankful we are to our customers for helping to support our small local business during such a strange and difficult time.
