Ingredients {NEW 2022 RECIPE} : Organic Black Pekoe Teas from Sri Lanka and China, Pure Vanilla Bean

Description: We have brought together some of China and Sri Lanka’s finest black teas. Our new 2022 recipe weaves together a different combination of high quality whole leaf black teas, which we have carefully selected for both pairing with each-other and with the very same ratio of pure vanilla beans as our previous recipe. Black Cream is the epitome of a smooth blend. The warm, slightly toasty notes of the Chinese black tea pair wonderfully with the fresh and fruity notes of the Sri Lankan tea. These are mixed with pure vanilla bean, resulting in a naturally sweet, rich cup with notes of toasted cocoa and an incredibly smooth, creamy finish. A warm and comforting, aromatic and naturally sweet black tea.

Tasting Notes: The creaminess of the pure vanilla bean is immediately perceptible in the aroma, paired with malted notes that combine into a scent reminiscent of fresh nutmeg. This natural sweetness rounds the crisp, refreshing notes of the Ceylon tea and the earthy cinnamon tones of the Yunnan tea on the palate - the astringency of even a strong steep is partially curbed by the vanilla bean. A wonderful cup, with or without milk, and an excellent way to enjoy a black tea without adding sweetener.

Brewing Instructions: Shake your tea gently to redistribute vanilla. 2g per cup. 100ºC water. Steep 3-5 minutes.

Organic

China has a rich and ancient tradition of producing high quality teas of all varieties, and black tea is no exception. This is where tea culture and industry, as we know it, began nearly 2,000 years ago.

Known as ‘Red Tea’ in China, the tea leaves from the Camellia sinensis sinensis plant are smaller and finer than their Indian counterparts, the Camellia sinensis assamica, and prefer cooler mountainous regions. Usually plucked by hand and gently processed, the end result are exquisitely fragrant teas with lesser levels of astringency and a soft body.

Several Chinese provinces are famous for their regional tea selections: Fujian Province is home to the well-known, pine-smoked Lapsang Souchong, while Keemun tea, the official choice of the British Queen, is produced in Anhui Province. Yunnan province produces the ever-popular varieties of Yunnan black tea and is also the region where China started its tea cultivation.

The organic teas we import are artisanally farmed and crafted. They may change with each harvest season. The same tea harvested at a different time of year and processed by a different tea maker will vary slightly in flavour and finish.
