TEA OF THE WEEK :: Drum Mountain White Cloud

Grown at a Buddhist Monastery in the Drum Mountains of Fujian Province, this popular white tea is also known as ‘Gu Shan Bai Yun’.

A fresh honeysuckle scent precedes this white tea. The cup is smooth and buttery while also vegetal and crisp. Delicate fruit tones layer on the tongue, reminiscent of lychee fruit. The flavour of the tea grows in strength as it sits in the cup, though as a white tea it remains just shy of an astringent bite.

The flavour evolves and changes considerably during subsequent re-steeps - we recommend experimenting with the length of steep and the grammage of tea per cup and see for yourself how the flavour varies in response!

This tea is excellent for several re-steeps, and fabulous on its own or paired with a savoury meal.

White teas are known for best representing the terroir of the region they are grown in, and providing a myriad of health benefits.
