January Tea of the Month :: Snake

Grace :: Transformation :: Wisdom

Welcoming the New Year and our Tea of the Month, Snake.

Snake is the sixth animal in the twelve year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac signs and is a time for strategic reflection, adaptability and potential challenges, but also opportunities for growth with strategic planning for those born in the Snake year.

Year of the Wood Snake - 1941 1953 1965 1977 1989 2001 2013 2025.

The Year of the Snake in the Lunar Year takes place January 29th, 2025 - February 16th, 2026. Much like our January tea of the month, the year of the Snake represents grace, transformation, and wisdom. Snake is also our Westholme blend White Tulsi.

Enjoy this soft and graceful tea spiced with the sophisticated flavours of holy basil. A faintly honeyed aroma develops into a sweet and gentle toasty palate. The combination of a smooth and softly floral white tea, with slightly peppery leaves of dried purple tulsi, produce a sophisticated steep that is both grounded and delicate. Wonderful hot or iced (using the cold-steep method).

About Chinese Zodiac Signs and our Chinese Zodiac tea collection

The Chinese Zodiac is based on an ancient calendar system and assigns 12 animals to represent one year within a repeating 12 year cycle. In Chinese culture, the zodiac signs play an integral part in determining one's fortune. It is also believed that people will possess characteristics of the zodiac animal corresponding to the year they were born.

We invite you to experience our very unique twelve artisan-blended, loose leaf teas inspired by the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac – Rat, Pig, Horse, Goat, Rooster, Ox, Snake, Monkey, Tiger, Dog, Rabbit, Dragon.

We crafted the line of teas so that there would be something for every palate. The final result is four black teas, four green teas and four herbal infusions each conforming to some degree to the characteristics of the animal they represent. So... which one are you?
