Description: Rooibos, fresh from the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa, is packed with excellent flavour and an abundance of antioxidants. Rooibos is a naturally sweet and full-mouthed steep - mixed with a combination of masala spices, this rich herbal chai finds a comfortable equilibrium between sweetness and spice. This infusion offers all the goodness of your favourite masala chai blend without the caffeine, and steeps to a deep red-orange colour; If looking for a chai that can handle milk, but without the caffeine of a traditional black masala chai, this is an excellent alternative.

Tasting Notes: The natural full-mouthed sweetness of rooibos is balanced with the zest of orange peel and the grounded, peppery finish of a traditional chai blend.

Brewing Instructions: 2g per cup. 100ºC water. Steep for 5+ minutes.

Description: Rooibos is produced from the Aspalathus linearis shrub, also known as “red bush.” The plant is native to the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. Once plucked and collected, the leaves are processed into a tisane. After harvest, the cut branches undergo an oxidation process similar to the processing involved in the creation of black tea; This technique brings out the rich, warm red colouring of the harvest, both in the branches and in the steep, and enhances the flavour into a full-bodied and naturally sweet cup. Many people now use it as a base for tea lattés; the natural sweetness of rooibos and the colouring of the steep hold up against milk almost as well as a black tea. This makes it an excellent caffeine-free alternative for those who still want a touch of milk (or milk alternative) and honey in their cup. A truly Italian organic, oil of bergamot provides the classic Earl Grey ingredient, cold-pressed from the rind of the bergamot orange, or Citrus bergamia.

Tasting Notes: This tisane is our herbal take on the classic Earl Grey tea. The steep is delicately fruity and tangy with a full-mouthed flavour and gently layered savoury sweetness. The Rooibos provides an earthy, almost woodsy foundation and a lightly sweet finish reminiscent of fresh vanilla. Bright citrus notes from both the bergamot and the orange peel uplift the steep. The crisp citrus zest compliments the Rooibos to pull a greater depth of flavour from the tisane base. A classic Earl Grey tone is certainly present, but offered from a new perspective with an infusion that is a beautiful red-amber and can be enjoyed any time of day!

The orange peel in this tisane accompanies the rooibos for a deep, toasted citrus steep, ending with floral notes and natural sweetness from the lavender and vanilla bean. A soothing favourite.

Tasting Notes: The full-bodied, fruity, and earthy flavor of rooibos is paired with the floral complexities of lavender and a twist of orange zest. The pure vanilla bean enhances the sweetness of the whole, while adding its own divine, gentle aroma and creamy finish.
