Jasmine Superior

Regular price $6.50

Style:  Green

Origin: Fujian Province, China

Description: Fujian Province is home to China’s finest jasmine teas. The green tea destined to become jasmine tea is harvested early spring, then processed and stored until summer arrives and the jasmine vines start to blossom. Our Jasmine Superior offers a fresh and crisp green-gold liquor. Smooth on the palate and full-mouthed with lasting and refreshing notes of jasmine. This unique, beautiful fragrance has an assertive linger, and has a slightly dry cooling effect on the tongue to finish. A great everyday jasmine tea that pairs beautifully with savoury meals.

Tasting Notes: The jasmine blossom is strong and straightforward in both the aroma and flavour of this cup. Longer steeps lead to a darker and more astringent finish with a cooling quality on the tongue similar to mint. For a more delicate experience, and a finish with minimal green astringency, we suggest a shorter steep time.

Brewing Instructions: 2g per cup. 90ºC water. Steep 3 minutes. Re-steep.

Tea cultivation and processing originated in China about 5,000 years ago, and while they carry on a rich and ancient tradition of producing high-quality teas of all styles, their green varieties are truly beyond comparison. The flavour profiles, aromas, and processing techniques from each tea-growing region vary tremendously. Some become silky and smooth, while some become powerful and astringent. Whether for casual daily drinking, or for special moments of ceremony and contemplation, Chinese green teas truly nurture the soul.
The organic teas we import are artisanally farmed and crafted. They may change with each harvest season. The same tea harvested at a different time of year and processed by a different tea maker will vary slightly in flavour and finish.
