Style: Green

Origin: Blended at Westholme

Ingredients: Peppermint, Gunpowder Green Tea

Description: Tea was introduced to Morocco by the British and the Dutch in the eighteenth century. Initially, the beverage was reserved for the wealthy upper classes, but by the nineteenth century the consumption of the drink had expanded to reach the palates of even the country’s poorest. Many people in Morocco now consume tea several times a day, and offering tea to guests is an important symbol of Moroccan hospitality. This beautiful North African country is now the largest importer of Chinese green tea in the world. Our Morocco blend is a classic mix of green gunpowder tea and peppermint.

Tasting Notes: A refreshing afternoon tea, with a lovely bite of green astringency, and warm peppermint to wake the palate and comfort the senses. The balance of these two flavours is bold and revitalizing. Enjoy hot or cold.

Brewing Instructions: 2g per cup. 95ºC water. Steep 3-5 minutes.

Organic

Tea cultivation and processing originated in China about 5,000 years ago, and while they carry on a rich and ancient tradition of producing high-quality teas of all styles, their green varieties are truly beyond comparison. The flavour profiles, aromas, and processing techniques from each tea-growing region vary tremendously. Some become silky and smooth, while some become powerful and astringent. Whether for casual daily drinking, or for special moments of ceremony and contemplation, Chinese green teas truly nurture the soul.
The organic teas we import are artisanally farmed and crafted. They may change with each harvest season. The same tea harvested at a different time of year and processed by a different tea maker will vary slightly in flavour and finish.
